About Petya

Petya Evtimova-Ivanova, MFA, was born in Bulgaria, Europe. In 1999 she graduated from the University of Veliko Tarnovo with a Master’s degree in Fine Arts.
Petya is a visual artist whose work has been recognized in numerous juried exhibitions. Her recent honors include the Judge’s Choice Award at the Virginia MOCA Boardwalk Art Show, Best in Show at the Art Speaks Juried Exhibition, and First Place at the Figment National Juried Exhibition, among many others. After graduating, she has presented several solo exhibitions and participated in more than 50 national and international group shows. Her artworks are held in private and government collections across Europe and the United States.
Although her primary medium is oil, recent years have witnessed her artistic exploration. She now combines the classical oil with other media and diverse surfaces, which enable her to convey her ideas in more intricate and multifaceted ways. Her latest creations serve as a tribute to the celebration of the beauty and harmony inherent in women's identities. They draw inspiration from symbols deeply rooted in native art, myths, and traditions from her Bulgarian homeland.
Petya's fine art studio is located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
